Metering and Settlements Manager

Yorkshire Gas and Power (YGP) is looking to appoint a Metering and Settlements Manager, someone who is passionate about delivering added value and contributing to the existing dynamic team in one of the fastest growing UK energy suppliers. This is a genuine opportunity for the candidate to develop along with the rapid growth of YGP.

This role can be performed either in our office based at LS15 or remotely. Therefore hybrid working will be considered for the right candidate. There would be a requirement to attend the office 2-3 days per week.

Duties & responsibilities

Working within the Operations Team, this newly created role is an exciting opportunity to enhance various aspects of the business and be a key part of internal growth. Reporting into the head of Operations, the metering & settlement manager will ensure accurate information is held on internal systems, whilst monitoring the quality of data provided by the customer and industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting on and identifying areas for improvement.

Main Duties of this role:

  • This role will be responsible for driving rollout and service performance with internal stakeholders from across the business to facilitate and manage the SMART rollout.
  • Be an escalation point for other departments to resolve customer queries relating to metering.
  • Highlight and risks and issues relating to metering and settlement.
  • Resolve cross-departmental and operational issues to maintain rollout performance.
  • Reporting and Industry Engagement
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across the business at all levels to ensure our service operates successfully for our customers.
  • Creation of internal plans, processes and regular KPI reporting.
  • Managing Settlement Analyst to ensure that half hourly and non-half hourly settlement performance is compliant.
  • Exception handling and management
  • Liaising with other suppliers and third parties to resolve any queries or ongoing problems.
  • Ensuring that the performance of appointed agents is satisfactory to facilitate compliance.
  • Support internal and regulatory metering reporting as and when required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A proven leader who can execute operational best practice to achive service excellence

  • Strong knowledge around metering processes, including SMART
  • Contract Management experience
  • Ability to manage third party relationships
  • Excellent IT skills including Excel
  • Excellent Analytical Skills, including creation of MI
  • Knowledge of the energy sector is required
  • Working to tight timescales

  • Excellent attention to detail and high standard of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills

Due to the nature of this role, the hours will be full time (37.5 hours/ week); 09:00- 17:00 Monday to Friday.
